In 2009, Jonathan started The Christmas Lights Experts in Plano, Texas with a single bucket truck and a vision: make professional holiday lighting accessible to North Texas homeowners without the typical hassles — tangled strands, dangerous ladders, mid-season failures, and forgotten takedowns.
What began as a family side business has grown into the most trusted luxury Christmas light installation company in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Over fifteen years, the team has personally lit more than 1,000 homes — from modest family bungalows in Plano and McKinney to estate properties in Highland Park, Preston Hollow, Westlake, and beyond.
The business has stayed family-owned and operated. Do I pay full price for Christmas lights every year?+
No. Your first season covers your custom commercial-grade C9 LED lights, design, and installation — and you own the lights from then on. Every year after, you pay a lower flat price for just the install and takedown, because the lights are already yours. No re-buying and no surprise increases, and no hidden or service-call fees.
Do you store my Christmas lights, and what does that include?+
Yes — free climate-controlled storage is included. When the season ends we take everything down and store your lights for you, so there's no clutter in your garage and nothing to lose. As long as we store your lights they stay under warranty: we replace bulbs and clips as needed and have everything ready each November. It keeps reinstalls fast and hassle-free, with no service-call fees.
How long have you been in business in DFW?+
Since 2009 — over 15 years of professional Christmas light installation in Dallas-Fort Worth. We have customers who have been with us since 2009-2012, demonstrating long-term reliability that national franchises can't match.
Are you really locally owned, not a franchise?+
Yes — family-owned and operated since founding in 2009. We're not a franchise location of a national brand. Our office and storage facility are in Plano, TX. Our crews live in DFW. Our ownership is local and accountable to the DFW community.
What's your warranty on installed lights?+
Lifetime warranty on all installed C9 LED bulbs and strands, contingent on continued annual service. We replace failed components at our cost — you never buy another bulb. This works because you own your lights from year one and we install and store them year after year — we replace bulbs and clips as needed at no charge, as long as we continue to install and store them.
Do returning customers really get priority?+
Yes — returning customers automatically get first priority on installation dates before public booking opens. Pricing is locked in year over year (no annual increases for loyalty). Designs are on file. Rebooking takes 30 seconds via text, email, or phone.
How are you different from national franchise installers?+
Direct-employee crews (not subcontractors), 15+ year local relationships, transparent pricing with no hidden fees, free in-season service, year-round storage, lifetime warranty, locked-in returning customer pricing, and same crew on your property year after year. National franchises typically can't match these on any single dimension and don't match on most of them.
