Professional tree wrapping done right.
Professional tree wrapping is one of the most transformative holiday lighting services we offer. We've wrapped thousands of mature live oaks, crepe myrtles, palms, magnolias, and ornamental trees across DFW β from compact front-yard accents to multi-trunk estate signature trees.
What we install & how we do it.
Mature Live Oaks
The most common tree wrapping request in DFW. We carefully spiral C9 LED up the main trunk, out along each major limb, and into the canopy structure. Each tree typically uses 800β2,500 lights depending on size. Warm white is the classic Park Cities / Highland Park look; multicolor works for modern transitional homes.
Crepe Myrtles
Beautiful for tree wrapping because of their multi-trunk structure. We wrap each trunk individually and extend into the upper branches. Tasteful and instantly festive β most crepe myrtles take 400β800 lights.
Palm Trees
Frisco, Plano, and Lucas estates often have palm trees that look stunning wrapped. We wrap each trunk densely, then run accent strands into the fronds. Particularly dramatic at night.
Magnolias & Evergreens
Year-round greenery wraps beautifully. We weave C9 LED through the dense foliage rather than spiraling tightly β the lights peek through the leaves for a magical, glowing-from-within effect.
Bushes & Shrubs
Net-style lighting on rounded shrubs is an easy way to add foreground depth to a holiday display. Combine with tree wrapping and roofline for a complete look.
Our process.
Tree Assessment
We walk your property to identify wrap-worthy trees, measure trunk diameters, and discuss your aesthetic preferences.
Custom Light Quantity
We calculate the exact number of C9 LED strands needed per tree based on height, canopy spread, and your desired look.
Safe Attachment
We use tree-friendly attachment methods that don't damage bark or restrict growth. Lights stay secure all season.
Power & Timing
We hide power cords carefully and install a timer so your trees turn on/off automatically every night.
Honest, transparent pricing.
Tree wrapping typically adds $150β$500 per tree to your installation, depending on tree size and complexity. A single mature live oak might be $300β$500; a smaller crepe myrtle might be $150β$250. We provide detailed line-item pricing in every quote.

Most companies charge you full price every single year. We don't. Your first season covers your custom, commercial-grade lights β and you own them. Every year after, you pay a lower flat price for just the install, because the lights are already yours.
Your investment covers design, your own commercial-grade C9 LED lights, and professional installation. You own the lights from day one.
A lower flat price for just install and takedown β since you already own the lights. No re-buying, no surprise increases.
Free takedown. Free climate-controlled storage. Bulbs and clips replaced as needed. No service-call fees, ever.
Store with us β it's free, and it's the smart move.
When the season ends, we take everything down and store your lights in our climate-controlled warehouse β at no charge. No tangled boxes in your garage, no attic clutter, nothing to lose. As long as we store your lights, they stay under warranty β we replace bulbs and clips as needed and have them ready to go every November. Lose your own lights and you're buying them again; store with us and you never do. It's hassle-free for you, and it lets our crew move faster every season.
Common questions.
Will tree wrapping damage my trees?+
No. We use tree-safe attachment methods β no nails, no staples, no tight ties that restrict growth. The strands wrap around branches and trunks gently and come off cleanly in January.
How long does tree wrapping take?+
Most single-tree wraps take 30β90 minutes depending on size. A full property with 6β10 trees is typically a half to full day's work.
Can you wrap very tall mature oaks?+
Yes β our crews are equipped with extension ladders and safety harnesses for trees up to about 40β50 feet. For taller trees, we may use a lift truck.
Warm white or multicolor for tree wrapping?+
Both look beautiful, but they create different moods. Warm white is the classic, elegant Park Cities look. Multicolor (red/green/blue/etc.) feels more festive and family-oriented. Many homeowners do warm white on rooflines and multicolor on accent trees, or vice versa.
Do I pay full price for Christmas lights every year?+
No. Your first season covers your custom commercial-grade C9 LED lights, design, and installation β and you own the lights from then on. Every year after, you pay a lower flat price for just the install and takedown, because the lights are already yours. No re-buying and no surprise increases, and no hidden or service-call fees.
Do you store my Christmas lights, and what does that include?+
Yes β free climate-controlled storage is included. When the season ends we take everything down and store your lights for you, so there's no clutter in your garage and nothing to lose. As long as we store your lights they stay under warranty: we replace bulbs and clips as needed and have everything ready each November. It keeps reinstalls fast and hassle-free, with no service-call fees.
Do you wrap large commercial trees?+
Yes β we wrap large real trees at commercial properties across DFW: office parks, retail centers, restaurants, and HOA entrances. Mature oaks, crepe myrtles, and magnolias get commercial-grade mini lights with full trunk-and-branch wrapping, installed around your business hours with takedown and storage included. We donβt install artificial display trees β we light the real trees your property already has. See our commercial lighting page for walkthroughs and proposals.
The expert guide to Christmas Tree Wrapping.
Christmas tree wrapping is one of the most transformative β and most underestimated β services we offer DFW homeowners. Done right, a beautifully wrapped mature oak in your front yard can transform an entire property's holiday presence. The trees draw the eye, frame the architecture, and create magical glowing presence visible from the street. Yet most homeowners attempt DIY tree wrapping and end up with sloppy spirals, uneven spacing, and lights that fall off mid-season.
The art of professional tree wrapping
Professional tree wrapping is about technique as much as materials. The spiral pattern must be even β typically every 4-6 inches of trunk diameter. The transitions from trunk to major limbs must be smooth. The canopy work must be balanced so no section looks heavy and no section looks bare.
And the lights must be securely attached without damaging the bark or restricting growth.
Our crews are trained on specific tree wrapping methodology developed over 15+ years working with DFW's mature live oaks, post oaks, pin oaks, crepe myrtles, magnolias, and ornamental trees. We know how to handle the unique challenges each species presents β the smooth bark of young oaks vs. the deeply furrowed bark of mature trees, the multi-trunk structure of crepe myrtles, the dense canopy of magnolias. Every tree gets a custom approach.
Tree types we wrap (and how we approach each)
Mature Live Oaks are the most-requested tree wrapping in DFW. A typical 30-40 foot mature oak takes 800-2,500 lights depending on canopy spread. We wrap each major limb individually, working outward from the trunk in even spirals. The result reads as a single tree-shaped glow, not random tangled lights.
Crepe Myrtles have multi-trunk structure that's beautiful when wrapped.
We wrap each trunk individually and extend into the upper branches. Most crepe myrtles use 400-800 lights. The clusters of trunks create depth and dimension you can't get from a single-trunk tree.
Palm Trees (common in Frisco luxury and Lucas estates) look dramatic when wrapped densely on the trunk with accent strands running into the fronds.
We use weatherproof attachment methods specifically designed for palm bark.
Magnolias and Evergreens have year-round dense foliage. Rather than wrapping the trunk, we weave lights through the foliage layers β the lights peek through the leaves for a magical 'glowing from within' effect.
Bushes and Shrubs get net-style lighting that drapes the rounded shape. Quick to install, perfect ambient glow at ground level. Often paired with tree wrapping and roofline for layered displays.
Materials we use for tree wrapping
We use commercial-grade mini LED lights for tree wrapping β typically 5mm M5 bulbs in warm white (2700K) or multicolor. The mini scale is correct for tree wrapping; C9 bulbs are too large for trunk and branch detail.
Wire jacket is heavy-duty SPT-1 rated for outdoor cold and UV exposure. The bulbs themselves have sealed bases that resist moisture infiltration. Wire connections are weatherproofed with heat-shrink seals.
The full assembly is rated for 10,000+ hours of operation, meaning many seasons of beautiful tree displays.
Attachment is tree-safe β no nails, no staples, no tight zip-ties that restrict growth. We use loose loops of soft cord that hold strands in place gently. The bark remains undamaged, the limbs remain free to flex in wind, and tree health is preserved year after year.
When to combine tree wrapping with roofline
Tree wrapping is most effective when combined with roofline C9 LED in a cohesive design. The roofline provides the architectural statement; the trees add foreground depth and visual drama.
A common combination on luxury DFW homes is: warm-white C9 LED on the roofline, warm-white mini lights on 2-4 wrapped trees, lit garland on the front porch, and wreaths on the front door and second-story windows.
This combination reads beautifully from the curb AND from the front step.
For multi-color displays, we typically keep the roofline warm-white (the elegant architectural statement) and let the trees be the playful color element. The combination is more sophisticated than going all-multicolor everywhere.
Common tree wrapping mistakes (and how we avoid them)
We see plenty of homes with attempted DIY tree wrapping that didn't work out. The common mistakes:
Uneven spirals. DIY tree wrapping often has tighter sections, looser sections, gaps, and bunched areas. The result looks haphazard. We use measured spacing throughout the entire tree.
Top-heavy or bottom-heavy distribution. The light density should be roughly even from base to top, with slight density concentration around the canopy edge where the tree's silhouette is visible.
DIY usually piles lights at the bottom (where it's easier to reach) and tapers off at the top.
Lights falling off mid-season. Improper attachment methods (especially loose drapes) result in lights falling off in wind or rain. We secure properly so the display stays beautiful through the entire season.
Damaging the bark. Tight wraps, nails, staples, or zip-ties can damage tree health long-term.
We use tree-safe methods exclusively.
Mismatched warm-white temperatures. If your tree wrap uses a different shade of warm-white than your roofline, the visual disconnect is noticeable. We coordinate color temperature across all elements.
