C9 LED Christmas lights: the gold standard.
Commercial-grade C9 LED bulbs, custom-cut to your home's exact roofline. The brightest, longest-lasting, most beautiful Christmas lights for Dallas, Plano, Highland Park, and all of DFW.
Why C9 LED is the only bulb we use.
C9 LED bulbs are the gold standard for outdoor Christmas lighting. They're the large, classic-shaped bulbs you see on luxury homes across Highland Park and Lucas. After 15+ years installing lights across DFW, we won't use anything else.
Here's exactly why C9 LEDs outperform every other bulb on the market β and why your home deserves them.
10Γ Brighter
C9 bulbs are larger and produce significantly more light than mini-lights or C7s. Your home is visible from the street, not just up close.
90% Less Energy
LED uses a fraction of the energy of incandescent. Your electric bill barely moves even with hundreds of bulbs running all season.
5+ Year Lifespan
Commercial-grade LEDs last season after season. Our lifetime warranty means you'll never need to buy bulbs again.
Weather-Sealed
Texas weather is brutal β sun, rain, freezing snaps. Our C9s handle all of it. UL-rated for outdoor use.
Custom-Cut
Every strand is measured and cut to your home's exact roofline. No gaps, no awkward overlaps, no spliced extension cords.
10+ Colors
Warm white, pure white, red, green, blue, multicolor, custom mixes. We design the palette to match your home.
C9 vs. other bulbs
Professional C9 LED installation done right.
C9 LED bulbs are the gold standard for outdoor Christmas lighting and the only style we install for rooflines. They're larger, brighter, more energy-efficient, and far more durable than mini lights or older incandescent bulbs. Every C9 LED strand we install is custom-cut to fit your home's exact roofline β no template installs, no excess wire bunching at corners.
What we install & how we do it.
Why C9 LED Over Mini Lights
C9 bulbs are roughly the size of a strawberry β visible from the curb and giving rooflines a clean, polished look. Mini lights look cluttered from distance, often dim out in clusters, and don't have the upscale appearance C9 LED delivers.
Why LED Over Incandescent
LEDs use ~90% less electricity, run cool (no fire risk on rooflines), don't burn out the way incandescent bulbs do, and last 15,000β50,000 hours. The light quality is also superior β clean, consistent color across every bulb.
Commercial-Grade vs. Big-Box
We only install commercial-grade C9 LED. Home Depot/Lowe's residential LEDs are designed for one or two seasons and have thinner wire, weaker connections, and lower bulb quality. Our commercial-grade bulbs and SPT-1 wire are built for many seasons of weather.
Custom-Cut Strands
We don't drape extra wire at corners or leave gaps where strands meet. We measure your roofline, cut each strand to the exact length, and install smoothly β every bulb spaced evenly.
Color Options
Warm white (the most popular, classic), pure white, red, green, multicolor mix, red/green alternating, red/white, blue/white, custom combinations. We can also do twinkle-mode bulbs for accent areas.
Our process.
Custom Measurement
We measure every linear foot of roofline: front gables, dormers, valleys, eaves, returns, dental moldings.
Cut to Fit
We custom-cut C9 LED strands to your home's exact measurements. Each strand goes onto a specific section of your roof.
Pro Clip Installation
We use weather-rated all-in-one clips that hold each bulb upright facing straight out. Clips attach to shingles or gutters without damage.
Power & Timer
We install a heavy-duty timer (typically dusk-to-dawn or programmable) and ensure all power runs are weatherproof.
Honest, transparent pricing.
C9 LED roofline installations typically run $1.50β$3.50 per linear foot. Standard 2,000 sq ft home with 120-180 linear feet of roofline runs $750β$1,500. Larger homes (2-story luxury 5,000+ sq ft) with 300-500 linear feet often run $700 to $2,500+.

The expert guide to C9 LED Christmas Light Installation.
C9 LED Christmas light installation is the foundation of luxury holiday lighting. The right C9 LED bulbs, custom-cut to your home's exact rooflines, professionally installed β that's the difference between 'okay Christmas lights' and a display that gets photographed by passers-by and admired by neighbors. We've installed C9 LED on hundreds of DFW homes and estates over 15+ years, and we know exactly what separates professional-grade C9 work from DIY-quality installations.
What makes C9 LED the gold standard
C9 bulbs are the larger 'classic' Christmas light style β about 1.25 inches tall by 1 inch in diameter. From the curb (typically 30-50 feet away from a roofline), C9 bulbs are clearly visible as individual points of light. Mini lights, by comparison, blur into a fuzzy line at that distance.
LED versions of C9 bulbs are bright, energy-efficient, durable, and provide consistent color quality bulb-to-bulb.
Compared to old incandescent C9s (which we don't install anymore), LED C9s use 90% less electricity, run cool to the touch, last 15,000-50,000+ hours, and don't have the failure cascade where one dead bulb takes out the whole strand.
The 'commercial-grade' distinction matters significantly.
Big-box-store residential C9 LEDs have thin plastic shells, lower-grade wire, and weaker waterproof seals β they typically last 2-3 seasons before bulbs start failing or wire jackets crack. The commercial-grade C9 LEDs we install have polycarbonate shells (shatter-resistant), sealed O-ring gaskets at every socket, SPT-1 wire rated for outdoor cold and UV, and reinforced strain relief at connections. They last 10-15+ years.
Why custom-cut beats template installs
Template installs use pre-made strands of standard lengths (50 ft, 100 ft, etc.) β installers just drape and connect strands until the roofline is covered. The problem: rooflines aren't standard lengths. You end up with bunched extra wire at corners, gaps where strands meet awkwardly, or strands cut down on-site with messy splice joints that fail in weather.
Custom-cut means we measure your home's exact rooflines β every gable, dormer, valley, return, and architectural detail.
Then we custom-cut each strand at our facility to the precise length needed for that specific section of your roof. Strands plug into other strands at planned, weatherproofed junctions β not haphazard splices.
The result: every bulb evenly spaced, every line clean, no bunched corners, no awkward gaps. The lights look like they were designed for your home specifically β because they were.
Where we install C9 LED
Main rooflines β Front gables, side gables, back rooflines, eaves. The primary architectural silhouette of your home.
Dormers β Every dormer window gets its own custom-cut C9 LED strand wrapping around the peak and down both sides.
Done right, dormers become individual little Christmas focal points.
Valleys and architectural returns β The roof valleys where two pitches meet, the small architectural returns near entries, the dental molding details β all get custom C9 LED outlining.
Porte-cochΓ¨res and carriage-style garages β Attached architectural structures get their own roofline treatment. We treat your entire roof system as one unified design.
Bay windows and decorative trim β Bay windows, eyebrow dormers, decorative trim β all the small details that DIY installations skip but luxury homes need.
Color options for C9 LED
C9 LEDs come in many color options, and the color choice is one of the most important design decisions for your home's holiday presence.
Warm white (2700K) is the most-requested option in luxury DFW neighborhoods. Mimics traditional incandescent warmth, looks elegant against brick, stone, and stucco, and fits the historic character of Highland Park, University Park, and Preston Hollow homes.
Ultra-warm white (2200K) reaches into amber-gold territory. Beautiful on Tudor revivals, stone facades, and homes with classical or historic architecture.
The 'candlelight' quality feels especially bespoke.
Pure white (5000K) is crisp and modern. Best for contemporary architectural homes, white stucco modern estates, and clean-lined minimalist designs.
Multicolor β Premium multicolor C9 LEDs have deep, saturated colors (ruby red, forest green, royal blue, amber yellow, pure white) rather than the washed-out pastels of cheap multicolor lights. Looks fantastic on brick, family homes, and HOA community installations.
Specialty colors β Red and white only, blue and white only, all-red, all-blue, school colors, holiday-specific themes. We can source any color combination you want.
Installation methodology
Our C9 LED installation methodology has been refined over 15+ years of professional work. The process:
1. On-site measurement. A lead installer walks the roof and measures every linear foot of roofline β including the small details DIY installations miss.
2.
Strand planning. We map where each strand will start and end, where male/female plugs will meet, and how power will flow back to the timer. This planning prevents the splice points and dead spots that plague unplanned installs.
3. Custom cut at facility. Strands are cut to exact lengths at our facility. Splices and connections are weatherproofed with heat-shrink seals.
4.
Pre-test before install day. Every strand is plugged in and tested before it goes on the roof. Bulbs that fail QC get swapped before installation.
5. Install with safety. Crew uses extension ladders, safety harnesses, and proper personal protective equipment. All-in-one clips slide gently under shingle edges or hook onto gutter lips β zero penetrations, zero damage.
6.
Power and timer setup. Heavy-duty programmable timer installed and configured (typically dusk-to-dawn or set hours). Backup values pre-set in case of power outage.
7. Test at dusk. Crew waits for dusk to verify the full display lights properly and walks the property looking for missed sections or imperfections.
