When the season ends, we take everything down and store your lights in our climate-controlled warehouse — at no charge. No tangled boxes in your garage, no attic clutter, nothing to lose. As long as we store your lights, they stay under warranty — we replace bulbs and clips as needed and have them ready to go every November. Lose your own lights and you're buying them again; store with us and you never do. It's hassle-free for you, and it lets our crew move faster every season.

Dark sections are the most common call. When part of your roofline goes dark, the cause is usually a bad bulb (in older incandescent or low-quality LED strands), a damaged strand section, or a power issue. We diagnose quickly and have replacement parts on the truck. Bulb replacement on aging strands — individual bulbs sometimes burn out, especially on older incandescent strands. We bring matching replacement C9 bulbs and swap them out efficiently. Power and timer issues — when entire display is dark, it's usually a tripped GFCI, failed timer, or damaged power cord. We diagnose and fix or replace. Storm damage — after heavy DFW storms, lights can get pulled down or torn. We re-secure, replace damaged strands, and have your display back to perfect quickly. Animal damage — squirrels and other critters sometimes damage wires. We replace affected sections and can advise on prevention.

DIY and cheap commercial installations fail mid-season for predictable reasons. Big-box residential strands have weak waterproof seals that fail after the first hard rain or freeze. Improper splice connections (where DIY installers join strands without proper weatherproofing) corrode and short out. Insufficient power supply — too many strands plugged into one circuit trip GFCIs repeatedly. Improper clipping — strands that just drape over gutters get pulled down by wind. Bulb degradation — older incandescent and even cheap LED bulbs simply burn out over time. We see all of these problems on third-party installations we're called to repair.

During the season (November through early January), we aim for same-day or next-day on most repair calls. Emergency repairs (large dark sections before Christmas Eve gatherings, for example) get priority dispatch. Standard repairs are scheduled within 24-48 hours of the call. After-hours emergency dispatch is available for urgent situations though premium pricing applies. We carry common C9 LED parts, bulbs, clips, and wire on every truck so most repairs complete on the first visit.

Most repair calls run $75-$250 depending on diagnosis and parts needed. Service calls for our installation customers are FREE during the season — if anything goes wrong with what we installed, we come back at no charge. Repair calls for third-party installations are typically $125-$250 service call plus parts and additional labor as needed. Major repairs (extensive storm damage, full strand replacements, electrical repairs) are quoted per project. Every repair is quoted upfront before work begins — no surprises.

Sometimes repair is the right answer; sometimes replacement makes more sense. Aging DIY strands (5+ years old) are usually cheaper to replace than diagnose and repair section by section. Commercial-grade C9 LED installed by professionals is almost always worth repairing — the materials are valuable and last 10-15+ years. Heavy storm damage that affected most of a display may justify full re-installation. We'll tell you honestly what makes sense — we don't push repair work when replacement is the smarter answer.

The best way to avoid mid-season failures is to install commercial-grade equipment professionally from the start. Our installations include free in-season service calls because we know the equipment we use and we stand behind the work. But if you have existing installations from other sources, mid-season preventive checks can catch issues early. We offer one-time maintenance visits to test all connections, verify timer programming, and replace any failing components before they cause dark sections.
